    We have 1 Parent Governor vacancy, if you would like to apply to become a Governor of our school, the deadline is Fri 23-06-22.

    You can either email the schools admin address with your details, and a personal statement that doesn’t exceed 50 words, or you can collect a paper version from the school if you are interested?

  • Wear Blue/Yellow - Fri 11th March to support Ukrainian Refugees.

    Children's Rights - Article 38 (The right to protection in war)

    We have been informed that Porth Community School's Student Council have decided to do a 'Yellow and Blue dress down day' in support of Ukrainian refugees.

    As may of our pupils have siblings/relatives at Porth Community School, our School Council have also decided to a 'Yellow and Blue dress down day' in support.

    Therefore, this Friday (11th March), all pupils are welcome to wear either blue & yellow, all blue or all yellow clothes to represent the Ukrainian flag.
    We kindly ask for children to bring a £1 donation on the day.

    Further plans are being made with Miss Miller and our Rights Squad for future opportunities to support Ukrainian refugees and we will keep you posted on these developments.

  • IMPORTANT MESSAGE - Thurs 17th Feb

    Dear Parent/Carers,

    In view of the RED weather warning issued to by the MET Office for significant parts of RCT, the council has directed the closure of all schools tomorrow.

    This action has been taken in the interest of public safety. Your child will be provided with remote learning opportunities during this emergency closure day. A public update will be provided by the Council later today.

    All staff wish you a good half-term break and hope that storm Eunice passes over quickly! We shall see children back to school on 28th February.

  • Harry Potter - Junior trip - Oct 21

    Hello, letters are being sent home today for our current YR3,4 & 5, (Junior Dept only) Our Harry Potter trip to London can go ahead in Oct 21.
    We have 20 spaces available on a first come first serve basis, cost £55, £10 deposit required by next Wed 14th July.
    Children who have already sent in a deposit, places are still secured, letters are being sent home today.

  • Breakfast Club - Summer Term Applications - Please read the following info .

    If your child requires a place in the summer term breakfast club (12th April – 20th July) please complete an application form using the following link https://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/breakfastclubform.  The form will be available for completion from 7am, Friday 12th March to 5pm, Friday 19th March. The number of places due to Covid restrictions will be limited to ensure that social distancing and effective hygiene and preventative measures can be maintained. Places will be prioritised based on the time of application and you will be notified at the end of the application if you are successful or unsuccessful.  Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a reserve list and non-attendance will result in places being reallocated. Please note that in light of the current legislation in relation to breakfast clubs, prioritisation cannot be given to specific groups (e.g. previously unsuccessful applicants, vulnerable groups or key workers) as this provision is intended to provide a healthy breakfast to all learners. As places are restricted, please only apply if your child requires access to a free, healthy breakfast before the start of the school day.
